Facebook – time for a cover photo refresh

Posted by amy in Company news, Digital, Social Media.

Facebook are rolling out a new style for business pages which is set to change how your business page looks.

Your profile picture, text and buttons will be shifted down, meaning cover photos are no longer obscured.

This is good news as it gives you a little bit more room to play with!

The new dimensions will be 1012 x 385 Pixels and you will need to change or adapt your cover photo to fit when the changes take place.

Here’s an example of what the new layout should look like:

Why not take the opportunity to refresh your cover photo ahead of the changes?

Your cover photo is the first thing anyone sees when landing on your facebook page, and it will instantly affect their perception of your business – whether consciously or subconsciously.

You want a good quality image which reflects your brand identity, and signals towards what you do. Coupled with a few carefully chosen words – your strapline or an offer perhaps – you have something eye-catching and memorable!

A cover photo may seem minor, but spending a small amount of time making it professional and appealing could mean the difference between a customer choosing to interact with your business or bypassing it entirely.
